Application Fee……………………..………$50.00 (Includes Transcript Evaluation and Administrative Fees) Pre-Service Training Academy Fee …...$350.00 *Internship Program Fee…….….….….$3,600.00
If the candidate secures a teaching job, the Internship Program Fee may be deducted through payroll deduction on a monthly basis during the internship year over a ten month period at the school district’s discretion. Interns working in school districts where payroll deduction is not available may: · pay the entire internship fee up front, or · must make their monthly internship payments by the 1st of each month beginning on September 1st for ten consecutive months by way of post-dated checks or a bank draft. A $2,000.00 fee will be charged for each subsequent year for interns that need an additional year of support. The extension is granted at the employing district’s request. A “Continuing Program Support Fee” of $250 per semester will be assessed to those individuals who began their PSTA over a year ago and who are not interns. This fee will allow the individual to continue receiving all the services of the TEXAS ACP. Upon obtaining employment, interns will submit a money order payable to SBEC for their probationary certificate. Interns will pay for their fingerprinting fees and certification exams. The Intern will pay SBEC for their standard certificate, once the intern has met all program and state requirements. Interns are responsible for applying for their certificate(s) in a timely manner. ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. We do not accept personal checks. Please pay your application and training fees with a cashier’s check or money order. Acceptance into the program does not in any way constitute a guarantee of employment or certification. |
|
ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION Please be advised that all fees must be kept current in order to remain in good standing with the program. Interns requiring extensions must pay their fees before a certificate renewal is processed. Failure to do so will require us to inform the employing district and the State Board. A reminder: individuals are not allowed to teach in the State of Texas without a certificate.
Since some ISD’s do not provide for payroll deduction, interns hired in these districts are required to make their monthly internship payment by the 1st of each month beginning on September 1st for ten consecutive months by way of post-dated checks or a bank draft. This also pertains to any intern who is in a private school that does not make provisions for payroll deduction. A $35 NSF check fee will be assessed as applicable. Failure to meet your financial obligations will place your certificate, and consequently your employment, at risk!
Unlike other institution, we do not receive state or federal funds. We also do not require the entire program cost or a substantial part of that cost up front. We strongly advise you to be responsible in meeting your financial obligations. Please be advised that the TEXAS ACP reserves the right to pursue any avenue, legal or other, to obtain payment for participation in this program. Our goal is to provide quality service at a reasonable cost in order to accommodate the needs of the community, school districts, and program participants. |
